- If you are visiting another country, one of the most important things is to inform about laws and regulations which apply in that country. You don’t want to get stuck in customs, pay a fine, or even end up in jail because you simply didn’t know about some petty detail.
- Find all the tourist destinations you can see, and while visiting take your time. It’s better to visit fewer locations and enjoy them, then visit every possible thing in a rush.
- Personal documents are quite important, so you should check the expiring dates before going on the road. It can also be useful to scan and send them to your own mail, just in case you lose them during your trip.
- Don’t rely too much on verbal agreements. Always ask for receipts of reservations, especially when it comes to accommodation, rent-a-car services, flight bookings and similar.
- Weather can always be tricky and you don’t want to end up in shorts and T-shirt on a rainy and cold day. Buying new clothes along the way might significantly lower your traveling budget.

- Don’t spend too much time in a hotel. Meet the locals, try their cuisine, learn a few foreign words, because those little details are what you’ll remember the most after your journey comes to an end.
- Keep your budget in line. You don’t want to spend most of your balance the first day or two and then sit in a hotel because you don’t have any money left. Also, if you use credit cards, always make sure you know how much you spent and what is your limit.
